Bouchra Jarrar is a Parisian fashion designer who founded her brand in January 2010. After her graduation from Duperré in 1994, Jarrar joined the Jean-Paul Gaultier jewelry licensee with the intention of trying her hand at “diminutive details, to acquire a precise and meticulous savoir-faire”. In 1996, she arrived at Balenciaga, where she met Nicolas Ghesquière, the most influential designer at that time, and served as Studio Director until 2006. Her passion for the ateliers of the couture houses and her exploration of the heritage of Cristobal Balenciaga, one of the greatest couturiers, led to her own path in the world of the haute couture. Seeking to improve her knowledge of the know-how of couture and various tailoring techniques, Bouchra Jarrar joined Christian Lacroix in 2008 as the couture head of design. On January 23rd 2012, she was awarded the Chevalier dans L’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres medal in recognition of her contribution to the French arts. On December 13rd 2013, she has awarded the Haute Couture appellation.
