Jean-Claude Jitrois

Jean-Claude Jitrois (born January 10, 1944) is a French fashion designer from Narbonne known for his stretch leather designs. At the age of 18, he moved to Paris to study child psychomotor skills at the Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital. He wrote several reference books in the field of psychomotor while working and teaching psychomotor. Jean-Claude began exploring Jacob Moreno’s theory of therapeutic psychodrama by creating hand-made costumes. In 1976, Jitrois began his career in fashion by opening his first boutique on rue de l'Escarène Tonduti in Nice in 1976, after meeting Stéphanie de Monaco. He founded his own mononymous label Jitrois in 1983. In 2002, Jean-Claude Jitrois received the Legion of Honor for his contribution to the Fashion sector and the promotion of France throughout the world.
