Sophie Theallet (born in 1964 in Bagnères-de-Bigorre) is a French fashion designer who launched her own label in 2007. At 18, she moved to Paris to attend the fashion design school, Studio Berçot. She graduated early after winning France's “National Young Design Award”. She was hired by Jean-Paul Gaultier. And during 10 years Azzedine Alaïa’s right hand woman. After moving to New York City, she continued to work with Alaïa on a part time basis, while also freelancing for other fashion labels. In 2009, was recognized by the American fashion industry at its highest level when she won the coveted CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award.
